On January 24, 2007, near the end of bible study, our Pastor, Rev. Norman Mills collapsed while at the podium while covering church office appointments for the year 2007. 911 was called and an ambulance responded.  Pastor Mills was non-responsive for a period of time, and his appearance going ashen gray.  The church rushed to the front of the sanctuary and immediately started to lay hands on him and pray.  By the time the EMTs arrived, he was sitting up and some of the color was starting to return.  After nearly 3 days in the  hospital and multiple tests, the doctors were stumped.  They could not find what had caused our pastor to collapse, nor any residual effects of that night.  God truly worked a miracle that evening and on Sunday night, January 28, 2007, Pastor Mills took his place back in the pulpit.  Read below to see the updates that went out through our Web site during those days.

January 26, 2007 (8:36 PM):
Pastor Mills was released from the hospital earlier this evening and is now at home resting. Since the doctors could not determine what it was that caused the problem, he was sent home with promises of additional tests coming later next week. Praise God for a miracle!

January 26, 2007 (4:15 PM):
I just spoke with Pastor Mills on the phone and even though he sounds great and in good spirits, the doctors are still stumped as to what caused him to pass out on Wednesday evening. Blood tests checking his heart enzymes have all been negative.  Even so, he will remain in St. Mary's Hospital another night as doctors continue to run tests. Continue praying for him.

January 25, 2007 (5:33 PM):
Pastor Mills will remain in the hospital for at least another night as he continues to undergo tests. Doctors were not able to determine today what caused Bro. Mills to collapse yesterday evening. Continue to keep him and the entire Mills family in your prayers.

January 25, 2007 (6:45 AM):
Pastor Mills was kept overnight in St. Mary's for observation. At last report, he was still undergoing tests to try to determine what had happened.

January 24, 2007 (10:29 PM):
Pastor Mills is currently in St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV undergoing tests.  Pastor Mills collapsed near the end of Bible study this evening at New Beginning.  Please keep him in your prayers and check back here for updates as we receive them.
